A few more words about this course

In this course we will go step by step from graphite to painting with color using gouache.  This is an exciting and challenging course.  We are happy to introduce gouache paint in that it lets the artist build up paint similar to oil paint without the expense or facility that oil paint requires.  Using this medium makes painting accessible to everyone, and portable as well.
Throughout this course you will also learn:

  • How to prepare your drawing by spraying fixative
  • How to control water so it doesn't wreck your artwork.
  • Learn the color wheel before using color.
  • How to build up gouache paint so that it functions like oil paint.
  • Draw and Paint starting with foundations egg and cube.
  • Draw and Paint Birds by Painting a Cardinal
  • Draw and Paint Plants when painting a Venus Fly Trap
  • Draw and Paint a Chameleon
